Kale’s Christmas Shop and Garden Center is a Winter Wonderland
By Taylor Smith
Kale’s Nursery & Landscape Service operates a beloved Christmas Shop every holiday season that is a “must-see” for families, friends, and those seeking to experience some yuletide magic.
Located at 133 Carter Road in Princeton, the Christmas Market opens on Friday, November 29. A wide-selection of Concolor fir (white fir) and Frasier Christmas trees are currently available, along with fresh garlands, wreaths, lights and lighted displays, ornaments, table décor, tree skirts, mistletoe, collectibles, candles, door mats, bird feeders, handcrafted bird houses, ribbons, trim, and more. Poinsettias in red, pink, and white; pine cones; spruce; holly; and winterberry make a delightful addition to home displays. The Christmas stockings and accent pillows are popular choices as well.
Santa will be stationed at Kale’s every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through December 15 (visitors should bring their own camera). The market will also serve complimentary cookies, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Administrative assistant Lisa Henricks indicates that Kale’s selection of décor mirrors the trends for that particular year. This way, repeat customers are sure to discover new finds and inspiration among the holiday displays.
A special fundraising event for Housing Initiatives of Princeton (HIP) is Wednesday, December 4 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. This includes an all-day craft table for children, refreshments, and container tutorials at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. 15 percent of all proceeds from the day’s event benefit HIP. Since 2004, HIP has been helping low-income families avoid homelessness by providing service-enriched transitional housing and rental assistance programs. A community-based nonprofit, HIP manages five homes in the Princeton area and rents them at affordable rates to local families in need.
