Therapeutic Riding Program Seeks Items for September 23-24 Fall Tack Sale

Riding with HEART, Hunterdon Equine Assisted Recreation and Therapy, is seeking donations of new and gently used horse tack, equestrian clothing, and barn equipment for its Fall Tack Sale, scheduled for September 23 and 24 at its Pittstown (Alexandria Township), New Jersey farm.

Items needed for the sale include saddles, bridles, halters, blankets, turnouts, saddle pads, riding breeches, jackets, tack trunks, saddle racks, hay racks, buckets – – basically any gear for the horse, rider, or barn — and even horse trailers. Horse-related home goods are also appreciated.

Donated items may be brought to Riding with HEART’s farm at 639 County Road 513, just west of Pittstown, through September 2. Drop-off hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.  Call 908-735-5912 before you come or to coordinate an alternative drop-off time. All donations are tax deductible.

Riding with HEART is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of physically and cognitively challenged adults, children, and their families and to provide youth development through its diverse equine-assisted programs. Monetary donations may be mailed to Riding with HEART, 639 County Road 513, Pittstown, NJ 08867 or made online at ridingwithheart.org.

Shop at Riding with HEART’s Fall Tack Sale on Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Sunday, September 24 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. The sale offers great horse gear at bargain prices, with deep discounts on children’s riding clothing, and on Sunday most items are reduced to half price. The sale is held rain or shine. Check Riding with HEART’s Facebook page or call 908-735-5912 for details and event status.
