All-Ages Folk Dance with Princeton Country Dancers

Join in the fun of an old-fashioned barn dance with live music and professional calling when the Princeton Country Dancers get together for their March 9 dance from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Suzanne Patterson Center, 1 Monument Drive.  All dances are taught; no experience or partners are necessary, and all ages are welcome.

The dances — including square dances, contra dances, other traditional American dances, and sometimes folk dances from around the world — are fun for the whole family. Live music is often provided by the Mixed Age Dance (MAD) band, which is open to musicians of all ages and abilities who are welcome to play in the band.  There is a rehearsal immediately prior to the dance. Participants range in age from elementary school to senior citizens.; children should be accompanied by an adult. Musicians should print out and bring their own music, available on the website.

Admission for dancers and MAD Band musicians is $10 per person, or $25 per family of three or more. For those with limited income, $5-$10 per person and $15-$25 per family is the cost.

The March dance is the last on the spring schedule. For a complete schedule and more information, visit princetoncountrydancers.org.
