Campfire Storytelling Tradition Continues at Morven

Telling stories around a campfire is an age-old tradition. Morven Museum and Garden is continuing that tradition around the fire pit in its historic Colonial Revival Garden for an evening of fall storytelling on Thursday, October 23.

Between spooky tales celebrating the Halloween season to stories of harvest, the Princeton Storytelling Circle will offer not only a cozy fireside but s’mores and hot cider included with a ticket. Ticket prices are general admission, $15; $10 for members; free for children ages 6 to 10. Register here.

This event is suitable for children ages 6 and up and adults, according to Morven. Morven will provide some seating and extra blankets, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets, and to dress warmly.

In the event of rain, the program will move inside for a “candlelit” tales version of the event.

The program is limited to 30 attendees.

Storytellers include published poet and teaching artist Luray Gross; Maria LoBiondo, who has engaged in telling multicultural folk and fairy tales; and Kathryn Weidner, the former president of New Jersey Storytelling Network.

Morven members must login into their Morven Member account in the upper right-hand corner of the registration page in order to access the member rate.
