Carson Road Woods 20th Anniversary Walk
Join the Lawrence Hopewell Trail (LHT) Saturday Morning Walking Club for a trek through the 183-acre pastoral preserved site on Saturday, July 10. This exciting event commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Carson Road Woods.
Located in Lawrence Township, Carson Road Woods features beautiful fields, great trails (including the LHT), some wild critters, a beech forest, and wild grapes, blackberries, and mocker nuts, among other features.
For this event, participants will walk approximately 3 miles, crisscrossing through different parts of the woods.
At 9:30 a.m., John Marshall, president of Carson Road Woods, will offer some brief remarks about the 20th anniversary of the Woods before the walkers set off from the parking lot off Carson Road, which connects with Province Line Road at the nearest intersection.
The walk is expected to take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m., after which Marshall and some neighbors will give a brief talk on the uniqueness of the Woods.
As a reminder, anyone who joins the LHT Saturday morning walks should consider themselves club members. Monthly walks take place the second Saturday of every month. Club members get to meet other walking enthusiasts, enjoy the scenery, and increase their fitness at the same time — what’s not to love?
