Fly Fishing Classes Return to Orvis
Have you always wanted to head out on the water and catch a fish on the fly? Orvis in the Princeton Shopping Center, 301 North Harrison Street, is holding its popular Fly Fishing 101 clinics beginning Saturday, May 24 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The classes continue on Saturdays June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, and August 2.
Orvis, the sporting goods retailer, says that “If you’re looking for an exciting, easy, and inexpensive way to get your family outdoors, our FF101 class is the perfect place to start. Fly fishing is a sport everyone can enjoy, and all ages are welcome to attend.” (Those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.)
The classes cover the fundamentals: rods and reels; rigging; essential knots; fly selection, and basic casting. When you have completed the Fly Fishing 101 class, you may be eligible to participate in Orvis’s Fly Fishing 201 class, and upon completion of either class, enjoy the store discounts.
The classes are free and equipment is provided, but registration is necessary here.
