Celebrate the birthday of Frederic Law Olmsted on Saturday, May 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Anderson Park, located at 274 Bellevue Avenue in Montclair. The event is free to attend and open to all ages. The rain date is Sunday, May 15. Anderson Park is handicap accessible.

Expect live music, kids’ activities, a puppet show, vintage bicycles, and a half-hour theatrical living-history portrayal of Olmsted himself. The theatrical presentation will start at 3:30 p.m. Friends of Anderson Park planned the event to coincide with Olmsted’s birthday along with the Olmsted-designed Anderson Park, a proud landmark of the town of Montclair. 

The event is sponsored by Friends of Anderson Park and Essex County Division of Cultural Affairs. Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey Historical Commission.
