On Thursday, August 3 at 6:30 p.m., join Monmouth University Professor and former U.S. Army Fort Monmouth Command Historian Melissa Ziobro for a talk on how the U.S. Army Signal Corps employed women as telephone switchboard operators during WWI. The “Hello Girls” worked long hours to ensure battlefield communications. Their chief operator, Grace Banker, hailed from New Jersey. After the war, the women fought for veteran status, and they are being considered for a Congressional Gold Medal today.

Doors open for in-person guests at 6 p.m. in the Stockton Education Center. If guests would like to browse the exhibit before the actual event, the Museum galleries will be open from 5 to 6 p.m. The current exhibition includes switchboards and relevant telecommunications information from the time. For those who prefer to attend virtually, a Zoom link will be shared on the day of the event for virtual ticket holders. A Q&A for both live and virtual attendees will follow the lecture.

In-person tickets are $15 General Admission ($10 for Morven Members). Virtual tickets are $5 General Admission (Free for Morven Members). Click here to purchase: https://bit.ly/3ShSfF7.
