On Friday, October 20 at 8 p.m. at Christ Congregation Church in Princeton, the Princeton Folk Music Society welcomes singer-songwriter Tret Fure.
Fure launched her career in the early 1970s and described herself at the time as a soprano in the style of Judy Collins. She learned guitar by repeatedly “dropping the needle” on Judy Collins records until she understood the musician’s picking style. Fure also studied and emanated James Taylor. Eventually Fure became a well-known touring artist with Spencer Davis, Yes, Poco, Little Feat, the J. Geils Band, Black Oak Arkansas, and Humble Pie.
Tickets for her October 20 performance are $25 at the door ($20 for Folk Society members, $10 students and $5 for children). Christ Congregation Church is located at 50 Walnut Lane.
