Learn all about the science of hot glass with Pezz Glasswork artists Jarryd Pezzillo and Gywn Wycoff, who will demonstrate how they manipulate 2,000-degree molten glass to create all kinds of glass pumpkins.
You can also shop their glass pumpkin patch of all colors and sizes at the Arts Council of Princeton’s Pumpkin Palooza on October 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Arts Council Parking lot.
The science fun continues with the Princeton University Molecular Biology Outreach Program, teaching how to extract DNA from pumpkins in a hands-on, all-ages experiment.
RSVP here; the event is free.
Before and after the event, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m., don’t miss Glassblowing Walk-Ins. Make your own glass pumpkins — Pezzillo and Wycoff will take care of the hot handling and visitors can choose their own colors and inflate the glass through the blow hose. Walk-ins are first-come, first-served; Each walk-in is $75 — credit cards will be accepted on the day of the event.
Pezz Glassworks is an area glassblowing studio specializing in creating unique glass art, offering hands-on glassblowing experiences, and using a mobile studio to share the art of glassblowing at various events. Founded in 2020 by Pezzillo, Pezz Glassworks began with a small homemade furnace on a trailer, built mostly from repurposed materials.
