Say “Cheese” and Watch Film on Regenerative Farming
A trifecta of education, entertainment, and edibles: The West Windsor Community Farmers Market is collaborating with the Princeton Garden Theatre to show the movie Common Ground, and Cherry Grove Farm is offering cheese plates from its sustainable farm and creamery in Lawrenceville at the event on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
The documentry profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of white, Black, and Indigenous farmers who are using “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate, improve health, and help stabilize America’s economy. Moderated by Scott Morgan of Morganics Family Farm, the film features actors including Laura Dern, Woody Harrelson, Jason Momoa, Rosario Dawson, and Donald Glover.
Local regenerative farm Cherry Grove is offering artisanal cheese to snack on while watching Common Ground at the theater. A cheeseboard in a compostable box contains a tasting of raw milk farmstead cheeses together with some Cherry Grove honey and crackers. A box with three cheeses for three to five people is $21. A box of two cheese samples and the accoutrements is $16.
Order your cheese box from the Princeton Garden Theatre website by Monday, May 13 and it will be waiting for you at the theater on May 16 before the movie.
Cherry Grove Farm in Lawrenceville, a diversified and sustainable farm and creamery on more than 400 acres off Route 206, holds classes in cheesemaking and homesteading skills. Cherry Grove is known for its farmstead cheese, many of which have won awards from the American Cheese Society and Good Food Awards.
