Simonson Farms Offers Drive-Thru Produce Boxes in Plainsboro
Simonson Farms, a longstanding local family farm, offers weekly boxes of fresh vegetables and fruits for drive-up pick up in Plainsboro. During this time of social distancing, the farm community wants to help people get fresh produce without hassle, right on the farm.
The “Be Well Box” costs $25 and will be a rotating mix of fruit and vegetables. In addition, farm fresh eggs can be added to an order for $4/dozen. Also available for add-on are local honey, popcorn, and freshly ground wheat or rye flour.
Customers need to prepay their purchase no later than Wednesday evening for a Saturday pick up. To order, go to simonsonfarms.com and scroll down to a list of products for purchase. Choose the “Be Well Box” and any additional items. Continue through the Paypal checkout. Customers will get a confirmation email.
Alternately, customers can call the farm at 609.799.0140 and leave a message if no one picks up. Someone will call back to take orders. Email with any allergies to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be one drive-thru pick up day, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Customers can pull into the farm stand driveway, give their name, pop open the car trunk, and they will put your bags inside for you.
“We will do our best to find the freshest, most delicious (and nutritious) produce in our area to bring to you,” said the Simonson Farms owners. “We are farmers because we care about feeding the community, and even though our crops aren’t yet ready for harvest, we can collect the best from our network of farm friends (in and out of state) to bring you a good selection of produce to help keep your families healthy and lower your danger of catching COVID-19, since you won’t need to go to the store as often.”
