Celebrate Independence Day at Washington Crossing Historic Park
Step back in time to July 4, 1776 on this Tuesday, July 4, 2023. A special living history event awaits at Washington Crossing Historic Park, where visitors can explore a military encampment and watch colonial townspeople demonstrate and sell their crafts from 12 to 4 p.m. A highlight of the day will be readings of the Declaration of Independence at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 p.m.
At 2:45 p.m. in the visitor center auditorium, historical interpreter David Price will give a short talk about “The Battle of Assunpink Creek: The Most Pivotal Moment of the Revolutionary War.” Price is the author of a trilogy of books about the Ten Crucial Days of the Revolution. He will be available to sign copies of his books, which are sold in the park’s gift shop.
Admission to this living history event is $8 for those 12 and older, $4 for children ages 5 to 11, and free for those under age 5. Admission is also free for active-duty military and members of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. Families with up to two adults and two children living in the same household can purchase a single-family ticket for $20. All proceeds from this event support educational and historical programming in the park.
Washington Crossing Historic Park is located at the intersection of Routes 32 and 532 in Bucks County, Pa. To see a complete list of summer events happening at the park, visit washingtoncrossingpark.org.
