Return of the Summer Princeton Farmers’ Market, May 19
By Taylor Smith
The return of Princeton Farmers’ Market on Hinds Plaza is a sure sign of spring and the promise of summer. The final April Outdoor Market will take place this Thursday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Hinds Plaza adjacent to the Princeton Public Library. Beginning on Thursday, May 19, the market will re-occur every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, through the end of November.
Since its inception in 2009, the market has grown considerably. The market was started by Jack Morrison in partnership with Pam Mount, Fran McManus, Kristin Appelget, and Raoul and Carlo Momo. The original market was stationed at the old Wild Oats site and the West Coast Video building. The market has been housed at Hinds Plaza since 2010.
All of the vendors/farmers are either locally grown or sourced in New Jersey.
Patrons can visit www.princetonfarmersmarket.com each week to see what produce is in season. In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, the market offers fresh meat, cheese, milk, juice, gluten-free baked goods, chocolate, nut butters, pasta, popcorn, flowers, pickles, table linens, handmade pillows, and much more.
An updated vendor list for the Summer 2016 season will be launched online shortly.
