Sunflower season is here and what better way to enjoy these beautiful blooms than to take a trip to Alan’s Flower Farm in Allentown.

From sunflowers to hydrangeas, lavender, dahlias, peonies, mixed bouquets, and summer annuals, Alan’s bucolic fields contain a wide variety of blooms. In season now, sunflowers are harvested from July to October. These regal blooms are an instant pick-me-up and look wonderful as a table setting or dried and added to a hanging wreath.

Dahlias make their appearance in mid-August and show their glory from mid-September through November. Dahlias come in a wide variety of sizes and colors and are a great “showstopper” bloom.

Mixed bouquets at Alan’s are available from June through October. The bouquets are completely custom and are designed to suit your specific needs, tastes, and preferences.

Alan’s also offers a flower subscription service, which includes four assorted bunches of seasonal cut flowers weekly. Two available four-week sessions are offered August 6-28 for $100 and September 3-25 for $100. Pick up occurs at the Farm Stand located at 120 Sykesville Road in Chesterfield. Pick up days are Fridays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
