The Arts Council of Princeton’s Open Mic Night
Join the Arts Council of Princeton on May 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for Story & Verse Open Mic Night. All are invited to perform original works based on the month of May’s theme — Knowledge is Power. This can be interpreted as broadly or specifically as the performer wishes. Those who don’t choose to perform on stage can join the enthusiastic audience.
Story & Verse is a once-a-month program that seeks to encourage performance art within the local community. From beginners to published performers, the goal is for everyone to try their hand at the spoken word in front of a live audience.
The prepared story, poem, or spoken word should be up to 5 minutes in length and related to the theme. Performers should arrive by 6:45 p.m. to add their name to the hat. No pre-registration is necessary. This is free to attend for both the audience and performers.
The event will be held at the Arts Council of Princeton’s Solley Theater at 102 Witherspoon Street. For questions, call 609. 924.8777 or visit artscouncilofprinceton.org.
